About Us

Jason, Wilhelmina, Jayden and Justin Krul

The Kruls arrived in Haiti in October 2008. After studying the language and culture for three months in Pignon, a small village located in central Haiti, they moved to Port au Prince, Haiti's capital city.  Once they were settled in, Jason became actively involved flying aid workers, missionaries and relief and medical supplies to the various remote landing strips located across Haiti. Wilhelmina began to volunteer at a nearby orphanage where she helped out with a feeding program for street children. She also taught swimming classes to neighborhood kids and sewing classes to orphan girls.

The Krul family was at home on January 12, 2010 when a massive earthquake struck Haiti, destroying much of the capital city. Although their house remained standing, security walls surrounding their home collapsed, water lines were crushed and power and gas lines snapped. Wilhemina, and their son Jayden returned home to Canada, while Jason actively participated in relief efforts, working a rotational schedule with an increased number of MAF pilots and aircraft.

In June 2010 the family was reunited in Port au Prince once again and are now currently continuing their work in the impoverished nation.  Another large role that Jason has been involved with is building houses for the victims that lost their house during the earthquake.  Thanks to the support and involvement of various work teams and individuals, we have been able to build a total of 64 homes up to this point!
